The financial support (Erasmus grant) for participating in teaching mobility is a financial aid aimed at supporting the additional costs of mobility caused by differences in the cost of living abroad. The Erasmus grant is not a scholarship, it does not provide for the full coverage of mobility costs.

The Erasmus grant is awarded only for the permissible period of teaching in the host institution under the programme.

The participants in the teaching mobility are entitled to receive financial support, which consists of a grant to cover the costs of the stay (individual support) and a grant for transport costs.

The amount of the individual support is calculated by multiplying the number of days per participant by the unit rate applicable per day for the respective host country.

The amount of transport costs is calculated by multiplying the number of participants by the respective unit rate for the distance category. For the distance category, it is the subsidy amount for round trip transport costs between the place of departure and the place of arrival.

The amount of individual support is fixed, cannot be changed and is determined according to three groups of countries:

  • Group 1 (countries participating in the programme with a high standard of living) – Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, Finland, Luxembourg, Sweden, Liechtenstein, Norway, as well as partner countries from region 14 – 180 EUR/day;
  • Group 2 (participating countries in the programme with an average standard of living) – France, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Portugal and Malta, as well as partner countries from region 5 – 160 EUR/day;
  • Group 3 (countries participating in the programme with a low standard of living) – the Czech Republic, Croatia, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Republic of North Macedonia, Turkey and Serbia – 140 EUR/day;

The amount of the travel grant is determined by unit rates calculated with the EuropeanCommission’s electronic distance calculator (http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm)

  • between 100 and 499 KM – 180 EUR /participant;
  • between 500 and 1999 KM – 275 EUR /participant;
  • between 2000 and 2999 KM – 360 EUR /participant;
  • between 3000 and 3999 KM – 530 EUR /participant;
  • between 4000 and 7999 KM – 820 EUR /participant;

The faculty/administrative staff member who chooses eco-travel will receive up to 4 days of additional individual support to cover travel days in both directions.

The equalization scheme for the actual stay for participation in teaching mobility is not applicable to mobility lasting less than 2 (two) days. Any stay of less than 2 (two) days (not including travel days) is illegitimate for the Programme and the funds provided for such a teaching period are subject to a full refund.
